“Jag har byggt skulpturer som jag har givit tre egenskaper. Egenskaper som jag ser som avgörande för våra kroppar. Absorbera, penetrera och att låta något passera igenom.
För att bygga skulpturerna har jag arbetat med material som jag själv använt för att upptäcka och undersöka min egen kropp i träningslokalen. Mesta delen av materialen är upphittade, de bär på en historia. Materialen har redan bearbetats på olika sätt av kroppen. Tiden har tagit ut sin rätt. Ämnet är redo. Precis som ett perfekt träd att bygga ett hus av eller en diamant som skall slipas. Materialet berättar för mig hur det ska användas.
Av dessa upphittade beståndsdelar har jag även tillverkat tvådimensionella verk som presenteras på väggen.
Verken på väggarna, inklusive collagen av papper, ser jag som beskrivningar och noteringar av personliga upplevelser som jag har haft med min kropp. Upplevelser av in och utsida, expansion och kontraktion, cirkulation och rotation. Sinnesupplevelser av olika krafter och dualiteter befinner sig i fokus. En input och output.”

“I have made sculptures which I have given properties that I see as crucial for our bodies. Absorb, penetrate and let something pass through.
To make the sculptures I have been working with materials that I have used in the gym to explore and examine my own body.
Most of the materials are found and they carry a history. The materials have already been worked over in different ways by the body. Time has done its work. The element is ready. Just like that perfect tree to build a house out of or as a diamond that is yet to be polished. The material tells me what to do with it.
Out of those found components I have also made two-dimensional works which are presented on the wall. The works on the wall - including the paper collages - I see as notes and descriptions of personal experiences I have had with my body.
These are experiences of inside and outside, expansion and contraction, circulation and rotation; Sensations of different forces and dualities are in focus. One input and output.”

Olof Inger (b. 1979) lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden. Olof Inger received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm and his Master of Fine Arts from Yale University, USA.
Olof Inger's work has been shown at Yale University, CT; The Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, Stockholm; Market Art Fair, Stockholm; Chart Art Fair, Copenhagen; Zona Maco, Mexico City; Galleri Thomassen, Gothenburg; Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium, Norway; LOYAL, Stockholm; Bonniers Konsthall, Stockholm; Miguel Abreu Gallery, New York; 109 Gallery, New York; Ribordy Contemporary, Geneva, among others.
Olof Inger has received The Elizabeth Canfield Hicks Award, Yale University Honorary Award (2104); The Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation Grant (2013); Baertling Foundation Grant (2012); and The Eva & Hugo Bergmans minnesfond (2012).
Olof Inger's work is in the permanent collection of Statens Konstråd; Stockholms läns landsting; Bonniers Konstsamling; Ståhl Collection; NOCO Nordic Contemporary Art Collection; and has worked with public commissions for Göteborgs Stad and Stockholm läns landsting etc.
